Taken back...

I was taken back to my childhood today...I love it when that happens :)

I was getting some letters ready to mail out and with the postage increase I have to add more than just the regular one stamp...

One stamp is a 5 cent stamp and it isn't one of the fancy just peel and stick you have to lick it and stick it :)

Well that is what took me back the taste of the stamp...remember those book you could get and have the stickers inside...I thought of sitting down and do that...awe the good old days...

Father's Day

Well Yesterday was Father's Day and I didn't even see my Dad!!!

So why not blog about how great he is and maybe get some brownie points?????

He is really great...no joke...I have to say no matter what happen with anything I can depend on him to be beside me. I think it is that "Daddy's Little Girl" disease...I may not be that little girl anymore but I don't ever want him to think that he isn't loved and needed...even though I'm married and Rodney is great, I got to chose Rodney and it was a decsion for us to make to get married...God chose me to be my dad's daughter and I am so thankful for that...he knew exactley what we both needed...Dad's are giving a great gift when a child is born...they can take that and live for that child or continue to live for themselves...this is a choice they are givin...mine took his chance and lived for me...so THANKS! And look at it this way you got the BEST daughter in the world...RIGHT...

A Litte Side Note: Mom you are great too...I started feeling bad b/c I didn't write on Mother's Day...Love you both!

Rodney helps a red fox...

You never know what is going to happen at work when it comes to hauling concrete...

Rodney called me this morning and said he had done his good deed for today...first thought was he was being sarcastic and he had done something bad...but he said him and some of the guys were out looking at some rock piles and up it a tree was a red fox. It was about 15 foot up in this tree and it was stuck in a fork...back feet on one side and the front on the other...I can just imagine it up there trying to get out so hard and no matter what it did it was just getting wedged in there worse and worse...How and why it was up there is a unknown maybe there was some tasty birds or something I don't know...the poor thing was just stuck and needed a boost and that is where Rodney came to the rescue...he use a long pole that he found in the shop and pushed the little foxes butt up and as soon as that fox could get some footing he was gone like lighting...

Why go to Church?

Why Go To Church?

A Church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday. "I've gone for 30 years now," he wrote, "and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons. But for the life of me, I can't remember a single one of them. So, I think I'm wasting my time and the pastors are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all."

This started a real controversy in the "Letters to the Editor" column, much to the delight of the editor. It went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher:

"I've been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals. But I do know this. They all nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work. If my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone to church for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today!"

When you are DOWN to nothing.... God is UP to something! Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible! Thank God for our physical AND our spiritual
nourishment!"

All right, now that you're done reading, send it on! I think everyone should read this! "When Satan is knocking at your door, simply say, "Jesus, could you get that for me?"

The Living Bible:

His name is Bill. He has wild hair, wears a T-shirt with holes in it, jeans, and no shoes. This was literally his wardrobe for his entire four years of college.

He is brilliant. Kind of profound and very, very bright. He became a Christian while attending college.

Across the street from the campus is a well-dressed, very conservative church. They want to develop a ministry to the students but are not sure how to go about it.

One day Bill decides to go there. He walks in with no shoes, jeans, his T-shirt, and wild hair. The service has already started and so Bill starts down the aisle looking for a seat.

The church is completely packed and he can't find a seat. By now, people are really looking a bit uncomfortable, but no one says anything.

Bill gets closer and closer and closer to the pulpit, and when he realizes there are no seats, he just squats down right on the carpet.

By now the people are really uptight, and the tension in the air is thick.

About this time, the minister realizes that from way at the back of the church, a deacon is slowly making his way toward Bill.

Now the deacon is in his eighties, has silver-gray hair, and a three-piece suit. A godly man, very elegant, very dignified, very courtly. He walks with a cane and, as he starts walking toward this boy, everyone is saying to themselves that you can't blame him for what he's going to do.

How can you expect a man of his age and of his background to understand some college kid on the floor?

It takes a long time for the man to reach the boy.

The church is utterly silent except for the clicking of the man's cane. All eyes are focused on him. You can't even hear anyone breathing. The minister can't even preach the sermon until the deacon does what he has to do.

And now they see this elderly man drop his cane on the floor. With great difficulty, he lowers himself and sits down next to Bill and worships with him so he won't be alone.

Everyone chokes up with emotion.

When the minister gains control, he says, "What I'm about to preach, you will never remember. What you have just seen, you will never forget."

"Be careful how you live. You may be the only Bible that many people will ever read!"

I asked the Lord to bless you as I prayed for you today. To guide you and protect you as you go along your way.... His love is always with you, His promises are true, And when we give Him all our cares, You know He will see us through.

I've Learned...

If you will take the time to read these. I promise you'll come away with an enlightened perspective. The subjects covered affect us all on a daily basis!

They're written by Andy Rooney , a man who has the gift of saying so much with so few words. Enjoy.......

I've learned.... That the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.
I've learned.... That when you're in love, it shows.
I've learned.... That just one person saying to me, "You've made my day!" makes my day.
I've learned.... That having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the
most peaceful feelings in the world.
I've learned.... That being kind is more important than being right.
I've learned.... That you should never say no to a gift from a child.
I've learned.... That I can always pray for someone when I don't have the
strength to help him in some other way.
I've learned.... That no matter how serious your life requires you to be,
everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.
I've learned.... That sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a
heart to understand.
I've learned.... That simple walks with my father around the block on summer
nights when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult.
I've learned.... That life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it
gets to the end, the faster it goes.
I've learned.... That we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we
ask for.
I've learned.... That money doesn't buy class.
I've learned.... That it's those small daily happenings that make life so
spectacular.
I've learned... That under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be
appreciated and loved.
I've learned.... That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.
I 've learned.... That when you plan to get even with someone, you are only
letting that person continue to hurt you.
I've learned.... That love, not time, heals all wounds.
I've learned.... That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to
surround myself with people smarter than I am.
I've learned.... That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.
I've learned.... That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.
I've learned. That life is tough, but I'm tougher.
I've learned.... That opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss.
I've learned.... That when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.
I've learned.... That I wish I could have told my Mom that I love her one
more time before she passed away.
I've learned.... That one should keep his words both soft and tender,
because tomorrow he may have to eat them.
I've learned.... That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.
I've learned.... That when your newly born grandchild holds your little
finger in his little fist, that you're hooked for life.
I've learned.... That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all
the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it.
I've learned.... That the less time I have to work with, the more things I get done.
